Abstract

|
The effect of gamma-irradiation on the change of superoxide dismutase (SOD, superoxid : superoxide oxidorductase. E. C. 1.15.1. 1. ) activitiesw was investigated in the cytosoiic fraction of the kidney from Balb/c mice, The experiments were carried out on whole-body Irrediated Balb/c mice with a single dose of 400 rads. Whole-body irradiation caused the marked decreases in the spacific activity and the activity per gram of the organ tissue of superoxide dismutase in the kidney which for 7 days, whereas the total activity of superoxide dismutase per kidney for 21 days.
